Inspired by the themes on the album, the cover artwork for ' Good Kid, M.A.A.D City' shows Kendrick, two of his uncles and his grandfather with his relations' eyes all censored. His decision to censor his relatives' eyes was because he wanted fans to feel like the story was being told through his eyes.
